Jessa, one of the girls

Hi everyone,

As usual I am always a bit late on TV/movie trends, which translates in me having never seen Star Wars, looking confused when people say "it's gonna be legen - wait for it - dary", seeing the first episode of Sex and the city in 2006 (the shame), etcetera etcetera. So for the last year everyone was getting excited because of a new series about 4 twenty something girls in New York, experiencing the ups and downs at work and in love. Girls. The aspect that made some lyrical was that the four characters aren't the classical beauties. Also they lauded the raw humor. It's refreshing and most of all: we can relate to it. Aren't we all afraid of new responsibilities linked to the once looked forward to adulthood, grown-up relationships and the next steps, our ever changing body (and not always for the good) and comparisons with the popular circulating body images? 

So now I'm almost through the first season, and I'm hooked. Girls helped me to achieve the first of my resolutions. Gosh, did I laugh! Hannah (Lena Dunham) is hilarious. The way she looks at the world and interacts with it... Amazing! And the way she and her best friend Marnie (Allison Williams) argue about the most stupid things, the way only girls can... Very recognizable. The naivety of Shoshanna who talks so much and so fast in a way only stereotypes can talk... Has already inspired a video stream on "Shit Shoshana says". And then my favorite character, Jessa, who is so cool it hurts. 

1) Look at those bags, the trunk, the scarf, the hat, and above all... that hair. 

2) Once again she sports a fabulous hat and looks amazing. Love that red lipstick shade on her too.

3) A pair of jeans and a cropped shirt. Simply fabulous.

4) You'll catch her often wearing floaty kimono dresses with the brightest prints. 

I love the way she screams vintage and the way she rocks every lipstick shade.
